Phil joined Placing People 1st in September 2008 having come from an Insurance background, working in a varied role in Guernsey. He was born in the UK and at the age of 6 he then was whisked away with his family who emigrated to Australia. Finally Phil and his family settled in Guernsey in 1990.

Why Placing People 1st?

I have always enjoyed meeting different people and exploring new ideas. When I discussed the available recruitment consultant role with Lynda and Paul things really started to “click” I realised that the satisfaction of selling Insurance policies cannot compare to helping people the way we do at Placing People 1st.  The company really does care about people, and I love that!  No two days are the same. I have found myself thriving off the different challenges each day brings and I love listening to new ideas.

I am a keen sportsman and in particular, running. In October 2008 I ran the Jersey Marathon to raise money for MS Society. The conditions on the day were pretty dreadful (rain and gales) but I was totally determined to see it through. It was well worth it and I clocked a really good time.  To see Lynda and Paul with the Placing People 1st/1st Recruitment team waiting for me at the finish line was really special (they are a brave lot! waiting in the rain and wind).  We are a bit like a family, we all work very hard for each other and have fun together as well.
