Social Worker, Adult Mental Health

A superb opportunity for a registered Band 7 Approved Social Worker reporting to the Social Work Lead on the beautiful island of Guernsey, Channel Islands. This role is focused on understanding and ensuring the requirements of both the Mental Health (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law and the Mental Capacity Law (Bailiwick of Guernsey) are met. This includes ensuring that patients’ rights under these laws are upheld, undertaking and managing the process of Mental Health Law assessments, presenting at tribunals, supporting team members in use of Mental Capacity Law and working and liaising with wider Mental Health Services. As a minimum, this position requires a recognised Social Work qualification (e.g. Diploma/Degree in Social Work, or CQSW or Dip SW) and the applicant must hold a current registration with Social Work England. Experience in undertaking assessment work and undertaking safeguarding investigations are also essential.
