1st Recruitment Group helps raise over £2,520 for “The Love Hearts Appeal"

Building on from the success of previous years tournaments, 1^st Recruitment Group are pleased to announce that their recently sponsored petanque doubles knockout tournament held in and around Gorey help raise over £2,520 for "The Love Hearts Appeal" (A charity set up to assist sick Jersey children who very much depend on the expertise and care of Great Ormond Street Hospital). 

24 teams competed in group qualifying matches initially with the top two teams of each group going onto compete in the Cup knockout rounds with the 3^rd and 4^th placed teams going onto compete in the Plate Trophy knockout stages. A great competitive yet fun tournament ensued which was further helped by the good support and humour from the local community who came out to watch. The Cup was ultimately won by team "Kerplunk" who beat "Hot & Saucy" in the final whilst the Plate Trophy was won by "Perchard’s Clarets" who beat "Peter Pan & Wendy" in their respective final. 1^st Recruitment Group would like to say a big thank you to all those who participated as well as to all the businesses both locally and further afield who kindly donated prizes for the raffle that was held later in the evening and to those who kindly assisted in the sale of the raffle tickets.
